Psychological Support

Alaya House offers a variety of psychological support services accessible face to face, over the phone or via Skype. The established services that work out of our clinic include:

Psychological Therapy Service (PTS)

PTS provides free short term face-to-face psychological services to eligible clients who have been identified as underserviced and/or hard to reach. This includes support for drought or fire affected communities.

Older Minds Mental Health Program for Residential Aged Care Facilities

The Older Minds Mental Health Program is a regional pilot that has commenced in Goulburn Valley and North East regions. PTS is now accessible to residents of registered RACFs to access mental health services available to those in the community.

Primary Mental Health Clinical Care Coordination (PMH-CCC)

PMH-CCC provides free therapeutic interventions and coordination of clinical services for eligible clients with severe and persistent mental illness.

StandBy support after suicide program

Supporting anyone who has been bereaved or impacted by suicide including families, friends, witnesses, first responders, schools, workplaces and community groups at any point in time. Check out Standby Support After Suicide website for more information about this program.

Referrals to Standby-Murray can be made by first responders, clinicians or people are able to self refer.

Better Access through Medicare

Better Access is a Medicare rebate program available to those who are able to pay a gap fee for psychological support. Better Access is usually used by clients who may not qualify for other subsidised programs such as PTS.

To access this funding, speak to your GP about getting a Mental Health Treatment Plan, which you can then take to a bulk-billing provider. For further information about this program, check out APMHA HealthCare’s page.

New patient bookings: First appointments are allocated for 30 minutes. Please attend 15 minutes before your scheduled time to complete new patient registration information.

Ongoing patient bookings: Scheduled for 20 minutes. To change or cancel your booking, please call 03 8845 7737

Counselling Room

Alaya House offers has an available counselling room for hire for organisations or private practitioners wishing to work in our Hub:

  • Room hire fees: Half day – $50, Full day – $90 (discounts apply for APMHA clinicians)
  • Off street parking and abundant free street parking
  • Admin support available for 10% on top of room hire fee.
  • Inclusions: wifi / heating / cooling / waiting room / tea / coffee
  • Fully functional and private kitchen and outdoor gated area
  • Fax / printing costs to be quoted upon enquiry

Clinic Room

Alaya House offers has an available “fit for purpose” GP / Nurse Practitioner clinic room

  • Room hire fees: Half day – $50, Full day – $90
  • Off street parking and abundant free street parking
  • Admin support available for 10% on top of room hire fee.
  • Inclusions: wifi / heating / cooling / waiting room / tea / coffee
  • Fully functional and private kitchen and outdoor gated area
  • Fax / printing / consumable costs to be quoted upon enquiry

Workforce/Community Training

Alaya House offers a workforce and community education in our new 25-person training room. Some of the training we run from this centre includes:

  • Mental health professional development workshops for GPs, Nurses, General Practice staff and Allied Health Providers (RACGP/CPD Applicable)
  • Alcohol Screening and Brief Intervention for primary care staff
  • A variety of Mental Health First Aid Australia workshops for community members, workplaces and health professionals
  • NDIS information and support for community members and service providers

Training Room Hire

Are you looking for a training room to host your next workshop or meeting?

Our training room is ideal for community groups, business meetings, and other training needs!

Bookings are available for Half day ($100), Full day ( $250) or hourly basis, 7 days a week.

Facility Includes:

  • Room set-up & Wifi
  • AV Equipment, Data projector & Screen
  • Whiteboard
  • Tea & Coffee Station/Access to kitchen facilities
  • Street and disability parking

Additional Services

IT Support Staff, Catering and Teleconferencing facilities can also be accessed for an additional cost.
